The purpose of this site is to offer my services for couples that are looking to get married in a non-traditional ceremony, with or without explicit reference to god, but certainly not associated with any specific religious denomination.

I am personally an atheist--although, perhaps technically an agnostic.  I began thinking about the prospect many years ago of my own wedding someday, and realized that I did not wish to get married in a traditional religious ceremony.  But neither did a civil service in front of a judge seem quite satisfactory.  So I set out to research how one might become licensed to perform marriages without either being elected to public office or becoming a minister.

In my old home state of Ohio, I found this to be apparently impossible.  And after further searching, found a religious organization in which even I could be ordained in order to overcome this obstacle.  The organization is the Universal Life Church, and I was ordained a minister in spring 2004.  I have now been licensed by the State of Ohio to perform marriages in that state.  We are still working on other states.

I am willing to work with couples to modify existing services to their liking, or to compose original ones.  Services may be completely irreligious and still maintain a certain solemnity and poetry.  Non-denominational or cross-denominational services can also be arranged.  Explore the site and find some ideas that you like or would like to build from.  Be inspired.  Be original.  Let me help you make it a day to remember.
